Trackdesk provides automation scenarios that help you keep your affiliate conversions in sync with refund events from your e-commerce platform.
Using the E-commerce Refund Handling Popular Templates, you can automatically update the status of a Trackdesk conversion whenever a refund occurs in your store.
You can also build your own custom automation workflows using Custom Automations, where many more triggers and actions are available.
This article explains how to access the E-commerce Popular Templates, enable their scenarios, and customize them to fit your workflow.
Accessing the E-commerce Refund Templates
To access the template:
Log in to your Trackdesk workspace.
In the main menu on the left, click Integrations.
The Popular Templates section loads automatically.
Scroll to the E-commerce category.
Select the template for the platform you use:
Shopify ↔ Trackdesk
Webflow ↔ Trackdesk
Wix ↔ Trackdesk
BigCommerce ↔ Trackdesk
Squarespace ↔ Trackdesk
Each template contains the automation scenario predefined by Trackdesk for refund handling.
Available Scenario
Every E-commerce Popular Template includes the same scenario structure, with the platform name adjusted accordingly:
Change conversion status on {platform} refund
Updates the status of a Trackdesk conversion when a refund occurs in your e-commerce store.
Example scenario names:
Change conversion status on Shopify refund
Change conversion status on Webflow refund
Change conversion status on Wix refund
Change conversion status on BigCommerce refund
Change conversion status on Squarespace refund
Each scenario can be activated independently.
Connecting Your E-commerce Platform
When installing your first scenario, Trackdesk will prompt you to authorize access to your chosen platform.
To connect:
Click Install next to the scenario.
Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the integration.
Confirm the connection.
Installing and Enabling the Scenario
To enable a scenario:
Open the E-commerce Popular Template for your platform.
Click Install on the scenario.
Select the required account or connection if prompted.
Add required information into the builder if needed.
Toggle the scenario ON using the switch on the scenario row or via the Start button at the bottom.
Once enabled, Trackdesk will automatically adjust conversion status whenever a refund is detected from your store.
Customizing the Scenario
You can adjust:
Which refund events should trigger the conversion status update
Mapping of fields between your store and Trackdesk
Optional filters such as specific products, order amounts, or refund types
Additional logic if using Custom Automations
These options help you tailor the integration to your refund and reconciliation processes.
Troubleshooting
Conversion status not updating?
• Ensure the scenario toggle is ON.
• Verify the refund event exists in your e-commerce platform.
• Confirm your store authorization is active.
Template not visible?
• Refresh the Integrations page. Popular Templates are updated automatically.
