Trackdesk provides a set of automation scenarios that help you receive important notifications from your affiliate program directly in Telegram.
Using the Telegram Popular Template, you can send messages to your Telegram bot when new affiliates register, when affiliate tiers or statuses change, or when new conversions occur.
You can also build your own custom automation workflows using Custom Automations, where many more triggers and actions are available.
This article explains how to access the Telegram Popular Template, enable its scenarios, and customize them to fit your workflow.
Accessing the Telegram Popular Template
To access the template:
Log in to your Trackdesk workspace.
In the main menu on the left, click Integrations.
The Popular Templates section loads automatically.
Scroll to the Messengers category.
Select the Telegram ↔ Trackdesk template.
This template contains all Telegram automation scenarios predefined by Trackdesk.
Available Scenarios
The Telegram Popular Template includes multiple ready-to-use scenarios:
Send new conversion notification
Sends a Telegram message whenever a new conversion is created in Trackdesk.
Send new affiliate registration notification
Sends a message when a new affiliate registers in Trackdesk.
Send notification when affiliate changes tiers
Sends a notification to Telegram when an affiliate changes commission tiers.
Send notification when affiliate changes status
Sends a notification to Telegram when an affiliate changes status in Trackdesk.
Each scenario can be activated independently.
Connecting Telegram
When installing your first Telegram-related scenario, Trackdesk will prompt you to connect your Telegram bot.
To connect Telegram:
Create a Telegram bot if you don’t already have one (use @BotFather in Telegram).
Copy your Telegram Bot API Key provided by BotFather.
In Trackdesk, click Install next to any Telegram scenario.
Enter your Bot API Key when prompted.
Confirm the connection.
Installing and Enabling a Scenario
To enable a scenario:
Open the Telegram Popular Template.
Click Install on the scenario you want to activate.
Enter your Telegram Bot API Key if prompted.
Add required information into the builder if needed.
Toggle the scenario ON using the switch on the scenario row or click Start at the bottom.
Once enabled, Trackdesk will automatically send messages to your Telegram bot whenever the selected affiliate or conversion event occurs.
Customizing Scenarios
You can adjust:
The message text sent to Telegram
Which channel, group, or chat ID receives notifications
Conditions for when notifications should be triggered
Additional filters or logic
These options help you tailor the integration to your communication workflow.
Troubleshooting
Notifications not appearing in Telegram?
• Ensure the scenario toggle is ON.
• Confirm your Bot API Key is valid.
• Verify the bot has permission to message the target chat or group.
• Some groups require you to add the bot manually before it can send messages.
Template not visible?
• Refresh the Integrations page. Popular Templates update automatically.
