Trackdesk offers a range of automation scenarios that allow you to receive important notifications from your affiliate program directly in Telegram. By using the Telegram Popular Template, you can set up instant alerts for new affiliate registrations, status or tier updates, and new conversions.
If you need more advanced workflows, you can also use Custom Automations to access an even wider range of triggers and actions.
1. Accessing the Telegram Popular Template
To find the Telegram template in your dashboard:
Log in to your Trackdesk workspace.
Click Integrations in the main sidebar menu.
The Popular Templates section will load automatically.
Scroll to the Messengers category.
Select the Telegram β Trackdesk template.
This template contains all the Telegram automation scenarios predefined by Trackdesk for easy setup.
2. Available Automation Scenarios
The Telegram Popular Template includes several ready-to-use scenarios that you can activate independently:
Send new conversion notification: Get a Telegram message every time a new conversion is created in Trackdesk.
Send new affiliate registration notification: Receive an alert as soon as a new affiliate signs up.
Send notification when affiliate changes tiers: Stay informed whenever an affiliate moves between commission tiers.
Send notification when affiliate changes status: Get notified if an affiliate's status is updated within the platform.
3. Connecting Your Telegram Bot
When you install your first Telegram scenario, you will be prompted to connect your bot.
Create a bot: If you don't have one yet, use @BotFather within Telegram to create your bot.
Get your key: Copy the Telegram Bot API Key provided by @BotFather.
Authorize in Trackdesk: Click Install next to any Telegram scenario in Trackdesk and enter your Bot API Key when prompted.
Confirm: Finalize the connection to proceed.
4. Enabling a Scenario
To get your notifications running:
Open the Telegram Popular Template.
Click Install on the specific scenario you want to use.
Enter your Telegram Bot API Key if requested.
Add any required information into the builder (such as specific chat IDs).
Toggle the scenario to ON or click the Start button at the bottom.
Once active, Trackdesk will automatically message your bot whenever the selected event occurs.
5. Customizing Your Notifications
You can tailor each integration to fit your specific communication needs by adjusting:
The text and formatting of the messages sent to Telegram.
Which specific channel, group, or chat ID receives the notifications.
The conditions and filters that determine when an alert is triggered.

6. Troubleshooting
Notifications not appearing in Telegram?
Check that the scenario toggle is set to ON.
Confirm that your Bot API Key is still valid.
Verify the bot has permission to send messages to your target chat or group.
For groups, you may need to add the bot manually before it can send messages.

Refresh the Integrations page. Popular Templates update automatically.
