Slack Popular Templates

Trackdesk provides a set of automation scenarios that help you receive important notifications from your affiliate program directly in Slack.

Using the Slack Popular Template, you can send notifications to Slack about new affiliates, affiliate status changes, commission tier changes, or new conversions.

You can also build your own custom automation workflows using Custom Automations, where many more triggers and actions are available.

This article explains how to access the Slack Popular Template, enable its scenarios, and customize them to fit your workflow.

Accessing the Slack Popular Template

To access the template:

  1. Log in to your Trackdesk workspace.

  2. In the main menu on the left, click Integrations.

  3. The Popular Templates section loads automatically.

  4. Scroll to the Messengers category.

  5. Select the Slack ↔ Trackdesk template.

This template contains all Slack automation scenarios predefined by Trackdesk.

Available Scenarios

The Slack Popular Template includes multiple ready-to-use scenarios:

  • New affiliate notification
    Sends a notification to Slack whenever a new affiliate registers to your program.

  • Send notification about affiliate status change
    Sends a message to Slack when an affiliate changes status.

  • Send notification about affiliate tier change
    Sends a notification whenever an affiliate changes commission tier.

  • Get notified about new conversions
    Sends a notification to Slack whenever a new conversion is created.

Each scenario can be activated independently.

Connecting Slack

When installing your first Slack-related scenario, Trackdesk will prompt you to authorize your Slack workspace.

To connect Slack:

  1. Click Install next to any Slack scenario.

  2. Follow the instructions on the screen to authorize Trackdesk.

  3. Choose your Slack workspace and channel if prompted.

  4. Confirm the connection.

Installing and Enabling a Scenario

To enable a scenario:

  1. Open the Slack Popular Template.

  2. Click Install on the scenario you want to activate.

  3. Select your Slack workspace or channel if prompted.

  4. Add required information into the builder if needed.

  5. Toggle the scenario ON using the switch on the scenario row or click Start at the bottom.

Once enabled, Trackdesk will automatically send the corresponding notifications to Slack.

Customizing Scenarios

Depending on the scenario, you can adjust:

  • Which events should trigger Slack notifications

  • Which Slack channel receives the messages

  • The message text and formatting

  • Additional filters or conditions

These options help you tailor the integration to your internal communication needs.

Troubleshooting

Notifications not appearing in Slack?
• Ensure the scenario toggle is ON.
• Confirm the selected Slack channel exists and is accessible.
• Verify your Slack authorization is active.

Template not visible?
• Refresh the Integrations page. Popular Templates update automatically.
