Trackdesk provides a set of automation scenarios designed to help you receive important notifications from your affiliate program directly in Slack. By using the Slack Popular Template, you can stay informed about new affiliates, status changes, commission tier updates, or new conversions without leaving your workspace.
For more advanced needs, you can also build unique workflows using Custom Automations, which offer an expanded range of triggers and actions.
1. Accessing the Slack Popular Template
To find the Slack template in your dashboard:
Log in to your Trackdesk workspace.
In the main menu on the left, click Integrations.
The Popular Templates section will load automatically.
Scroll to the Messengers category.
Select the Slack ↔ Trackdesk template.
This template contains all Slack automation scenarios predefined by Trackdesk for quick setup.
2. Available Automation Scenarios
The Slack Popular Template includes several ready-to-use scenarios that can be activated independently:
New affiliate notification: Sends a notification to Slack whenever a new affiliate registers for your program.
Send notification about affiliate status change: Sends a message to Slack when an affiliate's status is updated.
Send notification about affiliate tier change: Alerts you whenever an affiliate changes their commission tier.
Get notified about new conversions: Sends a notification to Slack every time a new conversion is created
3. Connecting Your Slack Workspace
When you install your first Slack-related scenario, Trackdesk will prompt you to authorize your workspace:
Click Install next to any Slack scenario.
Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize Trackdesk.
Choose your Slack workspace and the specific channel where you want to receive messages.
Confirm the connection to finalize the setup.
4. Enabling a Scenario
Once your account is connected, follow these steps to get your automation running:
Open the Slack Popular Template.
Click Install on the specific scenario you want to activate.
Select your Slack workspace or channel if prompted.
Add any required information into the builder if needed.
Toggle the scenario ON using the switch on the scenario row, or click Start at the bottom.
Trackdesk will now automatically send the corresponding notifications to your Slack channel.
5. Customizing Your Notifications
You can adapt these scenarios to suit your internal communication needs:
Adjust which specific events trigger a notification.
Change which Slack channel receives the messages.
Modify the message text and formatting to suit your brand.
Apply additional filters or conditions to refine when alerts are sent
6. Troubleshooting
Notifications not appearing in Slack?
Ensure the scenario toggle is set to ON.
Confirm the selected Slack channel exists and is accessible by the integration.
Verify that your Slack authorization is still active in your settings.
Template not visible?
Refresh the Integrations page. Popular Templates update automatically.
