Recurrence Type

Learn how recurrence settings control how many conversions can be accepted for a single click.

A recurrence type defines how many times a conversion of a specific type can be recorded for the same click.

Recurrence types

Once

A conversion is accepted only once per click.
Any additional attempts will be rejected and recorded in the conversion error log.

Limited

A conversion can be accepted a defined number of times per click.

When selecting this option, you must specify the maximum number of conversions allowed.

If the limit is exceeded, additional conversions will:

  • Not be created

  • Be logged in the conversion error log

Unlimited

A conversion can be accepted an unlimited number of times per click.

No conversions will be rejected due to recurrence limits.

How to configure the recurrence type

  1. Navigate to the Offer detail.

  2. Open Revenue & payouts.

  3. Click Add conversion type or edit an existing one.

  4. Select the desired Recurrence type (Once, Limited, Unlimited).

  5. If using Limited, enter the maximum number of conversions.

Example

Let’s say you run a subscription product and want to reward affiliates only for the first 12 billing cycles.

  1. Go to Revenue & payouts.

  2. Click Add conversion type.

  3. Select:

    • Recurrence type: Limited

    • Maximum number of conversions: 12

If a 13th conversion is attempted for the same click, it will not be recorded and the error conversion limit reached will appear.

Important notes

Changes do not apply retroactively

Updating the recurrence limit only affects future conversions.
Existing conversions remain unchanged.

What happens when the limit is reached

  • No additional conversions will be created

  • Attempts are logged in the conversion error log

  • Tracking continues, but conversions beyond the limit are ignored
