Track conversions server-to-server, ensuring accurate and reliable updates sent directly to your affiliate tracker.

Affiliate postbacks allow affiliates to create a 'tracking event' to track individual conversions. Currently, the only supported method is GET postbacks.

How to create affiliate postbacks

Affiliates are able to create postbacks by themselves, but when someone will want help, here is how to create it by yourself.

In order to create a postback enter the page Affiliate postbacks in the Tracking menu.

The tracking event creation is started by clicking Create new postback button.

Postback parameters

All parameters combine into a state in which conversion needs to be in order to fire the postback.

Source

As a source, you select one affiliate for which the postback should be created.

Scope

Postbacks can be scoped either globally or on a offer (Offer scope). Scope means the offers that should have a postback fired.

Global scope

Global scope means that the postback is fired for all offers with the exception of selected offers (for example, you could fire tracking events for all offers except one specific offer). This counts even offers created after this event was created.

Offer scope

Offer scope means that the postback is fired for only selected offers.

Conversion type

Conversion types for which the postback should be fired are selected. One or more conversion types can be selected.

Conversion statuses

Conversion statuses for which the postback should be fired are selected. One or more conversion statuses can be selected. If more conversion statuses are selected, the postback is fired when changes to all of the listed conversion statuses are done.

URL

As a last parameter, the URL to which the GET request should be sent is specified. The URL can contain placeholders for parameters from our system, which are filled when a postback is fired.

URL parameters

Parameters are prefilled by clicking on them. For example, if the Aff S1 parameter is used in the postback, then {affS1} is shown. {affS1} is then filled with the data present in the Aff S1 variable sent by the affiliate with a click.

Revenue and sale amount parameters

You can choose to allow affiliates to add revenue and sale amount parameters to the postback URL. To enable this setting, navigate to Settings -> Tracking -> Affiliate postbacks and switch the toggle.

Once enabled, affiliates will be able to add the revenue and sale amount parameters to their postback URLs and system will deliver the information. If affiliates add the parameters to the URL manually and the setting is not enabled in this setting, the system will not deliver the information in the fired postback.

After a postback is created

The created record of the postback is then present in the table on the same page and is ready to be fired when the conversions get to a state that it complies with the postback parameters.

How to edit or delete a postback

In order to edit or delete the postback, select the specific postback in the table.

In the opened side-modal, click "Edit information" or delete to completely delete the postback.

In the edit of postback parameters, Scope, Conversion type, URL, Included/Excluded offers are able to be edited.

Affiliate postback tracking log

The affiliate postback tracking log contains information about sent postbacks, such as:

  • Date, Status, Conversion ID, Source, Offer, Conversion type and Conversion status.

The most important information is the status. It tells you if the postback was sent and accepted correctly or if it wasn't.

Status of Sent Postbacks

The status tells you if the postback was accepted by a server or if some error had occurred. The detail of each sent postback can be seen in the side modal detail of the record. The side modal detail is opened by clicking the row of the record.

The detail contains the Attempts section at the bottom, which gives you more information about how the event was accepted or rejected and what was the reason for the rejection.

Attempts

When a sent postback is rejected, then the event is retried up to 7 times until it is rejected or eventually accepted.

Success Status

Success status is present on the records that retries had succeeded on, be it the first try or final try.

Retrying status

Retrying status is present on records that didn't succeed on the last try and still didn't fulfill all seven retries.

Error status

Error status is present on records that didn't succeed on any of the seven retries.
