A recurrence type is the setting of an offer and identifying the times or occurrences when a conversion for a specific conversion type can be accepted for one click.
Types of a recurrence limit
Once - A conversion of a specified conversion type is able to be accepted once; further requests end in the conversion error log.
Multiple - A conversion of a specified conversion type is can be accepted a specified number of times. When adding this recurrence limit type, you are asked to enter a number of the limit; further requests are directed to the conversion error log.
Unlimited - A conversion of a specified conversion type can be accepted an unlimited number of times. No requests will end in the conversion error log because of the recurrence limit in this case.
Example:
Let's say you have a subscription which you would like to pay out only for the first 12 months. You would then go to the "Revenue & Payouts" section and click on "Add conversion type." Then you will be able to select "Limited" and enter the number 12 under "Maximum number of conversions."
If you have a sale conversion type with a recurrence limit of up to 12 conversions and you try to add a 13th conversion to the same cid (click id), then the "conversion count limit has been reached" error is displayed.
If I update an offer to have a recurrence limit of 12 months will it backdate all previous purchases and sales?
When you update an offer's recurrence limit, it won't backdate previous purchases and sales. The recurrence limit is a setting that determines how many times a conversion can be accepted for a specific conversion type. If you set it to 12 months, it will only apply to future conversions, not past ones.
What happens when the recurrence limit is reached?
When the recurrence limit is reached, no other conversions can be created. Records of non-created conversions are logged in the conversion error log.
