Connect 3rd-Party Affiliate Networks and Platforms

Trackdesk can connect with a wide range of 3rd-party affiliate networks, affiliate tracking platforms, and partner/referral platforms. This allows you to bring external offers into your Trackdesk account, let your affiliates promote them through Trackdesk links, and track conversions consistently, all from a single dashboard.

This article covers the general setup process and provides platform-specific examples for each supported integration.

Requirements

For integration to work, the 3rd-party platform must support:

  1. Accepting custom tracking parameters (subIDs / click IDs) in their offer or tracking links.

  2. Postbacks (S2S tracking) to be able to send conversions back to Trackdesk.

  3. The ability to insert values from subIDs into the postback.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Configure Redirect Tracking in Trackdesk

Campaigns for 3rd-party platforms in Trackdesk must use redirect tracking. This ensures every click is assigned a unique CID (short for Click ID) and this ID is passed to the 3rd-party platform for future reference of conversions.

2. Create an Offer in Trackdesk

For each 3rd-party offer link, create a new offer in Trackdesk.

  • Paste the platform's offer link as the Landing page.

  • Append Trackdesk's {cid} token into a subID parameter supported by the platform.

Example:

https://platform.com/tracking-link?SUBID_PARAMETER={cid}

Where {cid} will be replaced dynamically by Trackdesk with a unique click ID when the end user navigates through the affiliate tracking link from your Trackdesk account.

3. Set the Postback in the 3rd-Party Platform

In the platform's dashboard, configure a postback URL to send conversions back to Trackdesk.

General format:

https://YOUR_TENANT_ID.trackdesk.com/tracking/conversion/v1?conversionTypeCode=SALE&cid=CID_MACRO&amount.value=PAYOUT_MACRO&externalId=ORDER_ID_MACRO

  • CID_MACRO → replace with the platform's macro that returns the Trackdesk cid captured at end user visit.

  • PAYOUT_MACRO → replace with the platform's macro that returns the affiliate payout or commission amount.

  • ORDER_ID_MACRO → replace with the platform's macro that returns the order or conversion ID. This parameter is valuable for backwards reference to the advertiser platform.

Note that the name and format of the three example parameters above fully depend on the 3rd-party platform and their terminology, they might be named differently.

Affiliate Networks

Traditional affiliate networks where you promote external offers and receive tracking links and postbacks. Below are platform-specific examples for connecting each network to Trackdesk.

Admitad

Platforms used to run affiliate programs, often requiring custom setup of tracking links and postbacks. The same redirect + postback principle applies, pass Trackdesk's {cid} into the platform's tracking link and configure a postback to return conversions.

Affise

Platforms focused on SaaS partnerships and referral programs. These platforms have slightly different tracking capabilities, but the core integration approach remains the same, pass Trackdesk's {cid} via the tracking link and configure a postback to return conversions.

If your affiliate network or platform is not listed above, it can still be integrated with Trackdesk in most cases.

As long as the platform supports:

  • Passing a click ID (subID parameter) in the tracking link

  • Sending conversions via postback (S2S)
