This article explains how to change the landing page on a direct offer, and what it means for links affiliates have already generated.
⚠️ On a direct tracking offer the affiliate link points straight to your landing page URL. Changing the landing page in Trackdesk does not change a link an affiliate has already copied. Existing links keep sending traffic to the old page, so affiliates have to take a new link from their dashboard and replace it wherever they published it. Redirect tracking offers work differently, see the last section.
Steps to change the landing page
1. Add the new landing page
Navigate to your Offer list and open the desired offer
Go to the Landing pages section
Click on “Add another landing page”
Enter the details (name and URL)
Save the new landing page
Add a new landing page instead of overwriting the URL on the existing one, so you decide when the old page stops accepting traffic rather than cutting it off the moment you save. The new page needs the tracking script or another integration in place before you point affiliates at it.
2. Set the status of the old landing page
Open the Landing pages tab, click Edit on the old landing page, and choose a status:
Hidden: no longer offered to affiliates, but existing links keep working and clicks are still counted. Use this while affiliates are switching over.
Disabled: no longer offered and stops accepting traffic. Clicks on old links are marked "Not allowed" in the Click report and are not counted. Use this once you want to force the switch.
At least one landing page has to stay enabled, which is why the new page goes in first.
You can find more details about landing page statuses and their behavior here: article Landing pages
3. Ask affiliates to take the new link
Their old links will not update on their own, so affiliates need to:
Open the offer in their affiliate dashboard
Select the new landing page
Copy the new tracking link
Replace the old link everywhere they have published it
Give them a window where the old page is Hidden rather than Disabled, so their traffic keeps converting while they work through their placements.
4. Verify
Confirm the new landing page is enabled and that tracking on it fires correctly
Generate a test link for the new landing page and check that the click is recorded
If you disabled the old page, watch the Click report for "Not allowed" clicks. Those are affiliates who have not switched yet.
Redirect tracking offers
Redirect offers work the other way around. The affiliate link points to a Trackdesk redirect domain and the landing page sits behind it.
The affiliate link stays the same
Only the destination behind the redirect changes
Affiliates do not need to update anything they have published
This applies to redirect tracking only. On a direct offer, affiliates always have to take a new link.
