Creatives

Manage and organize creative assets for offers, including banners, HTML snippets, and external links.

The offer creatives feature allows you to upload and manage promotional materials that affiliates can use in their marketing campaigns. By providing high-quality creatives, you make it easier for affiliates to promote your offers and maintain consistent branding across all promotional channels.

Types of creatives you can add

Trackdesk supports multiple creative formats to match your affiliates' promotional needs:

  • Image Banner - Upload image files (JPG, PNG, etc.) that affiliates can download and use on their websites, blogs, or social media.

  • HTML5 Banner - Provide interactive HTML banner code that can include animations and dynamic content. HTML5 banners support automatic tracking link injection, so affiliates can copy the code with their unique tracking link already embedded.

  • Text Link - Create pre-written text snippets or calls-to-action that affiliates can copy and paste into their content.

  • Video - Upload video files that affiliates can download and use in their video content or social media posts.

  • ZIP - Package multiple files together, perfect for providing complete promotional kits with various assets.

Adding creatives to an offer

You can add creatives during the offer creation process or manage them later for existing offers.

During offer creation:

  1. Navigate through the offer creation steps

  2. When you reach the Creatives step, click "Add Creative"

  3. Select the creative type from the dropdown

  4. Depending on the type selected:

    1. For file uploads (images, videos, ZIP): Select your file and upload it

    2. For HTML5 banners: Paste your HTML code

    3. For text links: Enter your text content

    4. For video links: Enter the video URL

    5. For social posts: Write your post content

  5. Optionally, add a name and note to help affiliates understand when to use this creative

  6. Choose whether to make this creative visible in the affiliate's "Get Link" page

  7. Click "Save" to add the creative

For existing offers:

  1. Navigate to the offer in your Offers menu

  2. Select the "Creatives" tab

  3. Use the "Add Creative" button to add new promotional materials

  4. Follow the same steps as above

HTML5 banners with tracking links

HTML5 banners offer a powerful feature: automatic tracking link injection. When you create an HTML5 banner and mark it as visible in the "Get Link" page, you can include the {trackingLink} variable in your HTML code. When an affiliate copies the code, this variable is automatically replaced with their unique tracking link.

This means affiliates can simply copy and paste your HTML banner code without needing to manually insert their tracking link, reducing errors and making promotion easier.

Important: If you mark an HTML5 banner as visible in the "Get Link" page, you must include the {trackingLink} variable in your code, otherwise the creative cannot be saved.

Managing your creatives

Once you've added creatives, you can view and manage them in two different layouts:

Grid view - See thumbnails and previews of your creatives in a card-based layout, ideal for visual assets like images and videos.

List view - View your creatives in a table format with detailed information, helpful when managing multiple creatives.

For each creative, you can:

  • Preview - View the full creative in a modal window

  • Edit - Modify the creative details, content, or settings

  • Download - Download file-based creatives (images, videos, ZIP files)

  • Copy - Copy text-based creatives to your clipboard

  • Delete - Remove creatives you no longer need

File upload limits

When uploading files for creatives:

  • Maximum file size: 32MB per file

  • Supported image formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, and other common image formats

  • Supported video formats: MP4, WebM, and other common video formats

  • ZIP files: Standard ZIP format

Best practices

Provide variety

Offer multiple creative formats and sizes to accommodate different promotional channels (websites, email, social media, etc.).

Keep it fresh

Update your creatives regularly to maintain interest and effectiveness.

Be descriptive

Use the name and note fields to help affiliates understand the best use case for each creative (e.g., "300x250 banner for sidebar placement" or "Holiday promotion - valid until Dec 31").

Test before uploading

Ensure images display correctly, videos play properly, and HTML banners work as expected.

Brand consistency

Maintain consistent branding across all creatives to build trust and recognition.

Enable Get Link visibility strategically

Only mark creatives as visible in the "Get Link" page if they're ready for affiliates to use immediately.

Notes

  • Offer creatives are specific to each offer and cannot be moved or copied between offers

  • Your offer must be in Active status for affiliates to access its creatives

  • When you save changes to creatives, the entire set is updated together

  • For HTML5 banners with tracking link injection, the {trackingLink} variable is mandatory if marked as visible in "Get Link"

  • Each creative can have up to 100,000 characters of content

  • Creative names can be up to 255 characters

  • Creative notes can be up to 1,000 characters
