Trackdesk allows you to configure Revenue and Payout independently, giving you full flexibility in how conversions are calculated.

How it works

When setting up a conversion type, you choose:

  • Revenue type

  • Payout type

Each can be configured as:

  • Fixed

  • Percentage

  • No revenue / No payout

⚠️ Note:
The combination Revenue = Fixed + Payout = Percentage is not available.

Available options explained

Fixed

  • A fixed value is stored in the system

  • No external value (such as order amount) is required

Use when:

  • You know exact amounts (e.g. $10 revenue, $2 payout)

Percentage

  • Value is calculated from the conversion amount (e.g. order value)

  • Requires entering an amount when creating a conversion

Use when:

  • You want to calculate values based on a percentage (e.g. 10% of a sale)

No revenue / No payout

  • No value is stored for the selected field

Use when:

  • You only want to track one side (e.g. payout only or revenue only)

Example combinations

Here are the most common setups:

  • Revenue: Percentage + Payout: Percentage
→ Both values are calculated from the conversion amount

  • Revenue: Percentage + Payout: Fixed
→ Revenue depends on the sale, affiliate receives a fixed payout

  • Revenue: Fixed + Payout: Fixed
→ Both values are predefined and static

  • Revenue: No revenue + Payout: Fixed
→ Affiliate receives a fixed payout, revenue is not tracked

Summary

  • Revenue and payout are configured independently

  • You can combine Fixed, Percentage, or No value

  • This setup gives you flexibility to match different business models
